🚩 More details about the ECOWAS standby force are emerging. RFI reports it will be constituted of 25.000 troops, with most coming from 🇳🇬 Nigeria.

🔹 RFI reports that 🇬🇼 Guinea-Bissau would also participate to the force.
🔹 🌍🇫🇷🇺🇸 The African Union, France, and the US all announced backing the ECOWAS decisions.
🔹 🇧🇫 Burkina Faso suspended Radio Omega, a popular radio, after it aired the interview of a pro-Bazoum supporter.
🔹 The security around Bazoum’s residence was reportedly heightened on Aug 9, with 70 guards now stationed in the vicinity.
UPDATE: I updated the map to remove a claim that France would “study any request for military support from the ECOWAS”. This was an assertation originally made by Le Point, which has since then been removed.
